How excited are you for 30 Days of Biking? Let's party about it! Supported by The Warming House, Farmstead Bike Shop, Surly Brewing Company, Banjo Brothers, Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater, and the brilliant Mario Macaruso, we're cooking up pre-party magic that'll start your March off with a blast and get you even more pumped for April.

Expect live bluegrass from No Man's String Band, tons of beer from Surly Brewing, a raffle with a Trek Bicycle District SSB as the Grand Prize, on-site sign-up for 30DOB (with in-person bonuses), cheesecake bites from MUDDY PAWS CHEESECAKE Co., juice from Juiced Nutrition Uptown, and more! All in a wonderful venue homegrown in Minneapolis, our hometown. Seriously. It's gonna be awesome.

In 2017, 30 Days of Biking is officially becoming a non-profit 501(c)(3). This event is our very first fundraiser, EVER! We hope you'll join us.

Perennial Cycle's Pastry Ride

Biking to pastries is the best way to start your Saturday! Led by shop staff and friends, these rides will meet at Perennial Cycle and depart from the back parking lot just off 34th street. All are welcome. This is a no-drop ride and is both family and beginner friendly.

Let's celebrate the first day of 30 Days of Biking in the town where it all started! At 11 a.m., April 1st, we'll meet at The Commons, Minneapolis for artisan-roasted Bell Lap Coffee, fruit from FruitShare, and a Bike MS: Upper Midwest welcoming committee.

At 12 p.m., after opening remarks, a group photo, and a bike blessing from Rev. Travis Norvell, we'll hit the streets for a slow-paced, paths-focused bike stroll around the Twin Cities. We'll end with afterpartying at Surly Brewing Company's dynamite Destination Brewery, featuring DJ Brian Engel of Hipshaker Minneapolis. Every rider gets one free beer/beverage!

Willmar, MN — Kickoff Ride & Pedal for Pizza

Help us kick off 30 Days of Biking in Willmar with a Pedal for Pizza! Ride participants will be able to purchase a slice of pizza and pop for $2. Led by Willmar Bikes members and friends, we will meet by the Middle School tennis courts before biking to Giovanni's Pizza of Willmar.

All are welcome — bring your friends, your spouse, your kids, your parents! This ride is family and beginner friendly, we will stick together and ride at a social pace. By doing a casual, short ride, you don't need anything special. Just grab a bike and wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Join Duluth Bikes for their 30 Days of Biking kickoff ride! One group will meet at the Lakewalk at East High School (301 N 40th Ave E, Duluth, MN 55804), another will meet at Clyde Iron Works (2920 W Michigan St, Duluth, MN 55806) — and both will depart for the ride at 11:30 a.m.

The 30 Days of Biking (30DOB) kickoff has become an annual tradition in Fergus Falls - and has been growing every year! While 30DOB still officially kicks off on April 1st, this year we're pushing the group photo and ride back one week for a very special guest... 30DOB founder and executive director Patrick Stephenson will be joining us in Fergus Falls for the photo and ride!

In addition to the awesome ride, we will be giving out prize bags to the first 50 riders who show up! We will also be handing out our highly-anticipated "30 Days of Deals" discount spoke card. RAD Cycles! – A Bike Party with the Cycling Museum of Minnesota

Join our friends at the Cycling Museum of Minnesota for RAD! Cycles, their first annual fundraising bike party. Help them reach their goal to raise $30,000 this year to hire their first part-time staffperson to manage the museum's day-to-day activities. All proceeds from the event will also support ongoing programs, future exhibits, and overhead expenses.

RAD! Cycles celebrates the 70s and 80s, the golden age of BMX. This special one-night-only exhibit features vintage BMX bikes, jerseys, and other gear. Riders of all ages & abilities, meet at Elmwood Park by the outdoor gym equipment for a quick bike check if needed (we'll have pumps & basic tools), followed by a beginner-appropriate, no-drop ride to Metcalfe Park (1700 Country Club Avenue) and back. The route includes paved trail, crossing Dodge Street together, riding on Happy Hollow Blvd (marked bike route), and one minor hill. This is a great introduction to city riding & a fun way to participate in 30 Days of Biking with your family. 30DoB spoke cards available while they last! Midtown Greenway Brunch Ride

10 a.m. ride, approximately 12:30 p.m. brunch. The Midtown Greenway Coalition is hosting a ride that ends with a sit-down brunch at Libertine in Uptown.

The Coalition will be promoting restaurants located adjacent to the Greenway that serve brunch, stopping by partner businesses, showing off where the organization has made a positive impact in the Greenway corridor and introducing everyone to their new Board Chairperson. All are welcome for the ride and riders do not need to attend brunch.

Donation-Based Yoga for Cyclists

After more than three weeks of getting on the saddle every day, take some time to unwind, catch your breath and recharge to make it through that final stretch to 30 days. Dylan, who is also doing 30 Days of Biking, will lead a slow-paced vinyasa flow class targeting the areas of the body most commonly used in biking, and giving plenty of time for relaxation at the end.

No prior yoga experience required, all types of practitioners are welcome. Class is 60 minutes and cost will be pay-what-you-can.

The River Ramble III – Hosted by Ben Weaver

Since 2015, Banjo Brothers has helped 30 Days of Biking close out the month of April with a service project and musical performance led by musician Ben Weaver. We call it a "River Ramble."

Now, join Banjo Brothers with cyclo touring troubadour and poet Ben Weaver for a river ramble to celebrate the conclusion of 2017's edition of 30 Days of Biking. In keeping with tradition, this ride will be friendly and open to riders of all ages and ability.

We will meet at Perennial Cycle and then head to the river (EAST RIVER FLATS PARK) where we will work as a group to complete a clean-up of the banks of the Mighty Mississippi. After our work project, Ben will give a short concert/reading/talk before we head out as a group to Izzy's Ice Cream where we will enjoy ice cream.

We will be joined by the student-run Green Team from Southwest High School from Minneapolis. RSVP on Eventbrite!

Spokes People with the Cycling Museum of Minnesota

On the last day of 30 Days of Biking, enjoy a talk from Christine Bachman-Sanders: "The Cyclist's Mobility: Lady Cyclists, Wheelmen of Color, and the Bicycle Boom of the 1890s."

In the last decade of the 19th century, the bicycle craze, championing the new democratizing technology of the bicycle and the moral mobility it promised, entered the social and political landscape of the 1890s as both a potential facilitator and threat to racism and sexism. This talk will focus on one piece of this larger social and political movement, revealing the ways that the bicycle boom interacted with wheelmen of color. Details at the CMM.
