30 Days of Biking: MSP Kickoff Ride

Braided Rivers: A Celebration of the River, Words, Music and Bicycles

In honor of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) conference, when some 12,000 writers and writerly types will descend upon Minneapolis, musician Ben Weaver and Elephant Rock Writing Retreats — in conjunction with Banjo Brothers and One on One Bicycle Studio — are pleased to present this special event. Rain, sleet, snow or shine — maybe a few others as well. Easy pace, riding two-abreast (unless the situation calls for otherwise). We ride or change flats or drink coffee or bullshit for an hour or until breakfast, whichever comes first.

Omnium Bike Shop is going to be 5 Years Old. Yeah. We're pretty shocked too. In light of this momentous occasion, we're going to throw a BBQ. For those of you who just fell off the turnip truck, we do this sort of thing a lot. Come hang out with us at the Shop and enjoy free food, free drinks and free high fives. 30 Days of Biking: Ben Weaver’s River Ramble

Time 5-9 p.m Location Hidden Falls Park (1313 Hidden Falls Dr. Saint Paul, MN 55116)

Join songwriter and poet Ben Weaver on a bike ramble along the mighty Mississippi, on the last day of 30 Days of Biking. This ride will include a stewardship/volunteerism project at Hidden Falls Park, a live performance from Ben, coffee and salami sandwiches at Kopplin's, and a view of the Lowry Avenue Bridge lit up in cyan. Learn about river history from members of the Mississippi River Fund and The National Park Service. All ages welcome. Family friendly and FREE.

The Joy Ride

Time 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Location All Over the Twin Cities

A smorgasbord of bike fun, created in a partnership between 30 Days of Biking and the Cycling Museum of Minnesota, Spinning Stories, the Minneapolis Bike Coalition. Join us for an open house at the museum, a place-based storytelling ride, an appreciation of Minnesota’s bike designers, a superhero comic book–themed ride, a story-sharing session and dancing! Hop on wherever you please or ride from open to close. It’ll be an epic end to our month of bicycling.

MS Society: Twin Cities Ride 2015

Time with check-in from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Location Summit Brewery, St. Paul

Bike MS: Sam's Club Twin Cities Ride 2015 is a one-day, fully supported ride starting and finishing at Summit Brewery in St. Paul, Minn. The ride features 15-, 25-, or 50-mile route options and is open to cyclists of all levels of expertise. Rest stops with water, fruit and other snacks occur every 15 miles. Cheers!
